TPS can continue for many years because Haiti with earthquake got TPS in 2010. They still have TPS which is more than 6 years.Many other countries who received TPS many years ago still have TPS

I think they almost always do a final 6 month extension. They usually announce the extension 6 months before the expiration. They might do another extension but they will want everyone to re-register. So, you have to do all the documents, mailing, fees and biometrics again.
